Van Engelen & Evers BV – EE labels beyond generations

EE Labels produces smart woven QR labels for Digital Product Passports. QR-labels serve as a tool to help brands with their Extended Producer Responsibility with Tricorp Workwear as first mover. EE Labels for sustainable retrievement of information

The main focus market of EE Labels is The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Northern France.
Together with their customers and label by label they work on making the world a cleaner and more beautiful place. Woven labels outlast the garments and can therefore be scanned during the entire product life cycle. With unique QR codes brands can inform customers for a better and longer life of their products. Also circular business models like a repair service can be placed behind the code. This further extends a product’s lifetime, making the whole supply chain more sustainable.

EE labels invested in custom machines to weave unique QR codes. All required information can be placed behind the QR code with unique URLs that are provided by brands or software partners. For the Tricorp project EE Labels partnered up with software company Twintag.

The woven unique QR labels are EE Labels’ main product focus for growth for the next 5 years. As compliance with the EPR is required, brands will have to communicating directly with consumers to improve recycling. Similarly, the direct contact with end consumers offers brands the opportunity to get more information about their customers and to adapt their products or services to the needs of their clients.

Tricorp Workwear – an EE Labels’ project – is the first mover in the industry, after a pilot bulk orders are in production. EE Labels presented its project during the Circular Textile Days where many companies showed their interest as this could be the solution to comply with the new European regulations.
